Edging on Catastrophe

Welcome Back, I’m on the track, Don’t know where I've gone I’m up again, its 7:10, And then I’m out by dawn Don’t count on me, I’ll never be, The one you're supposed to see Reality, or so it seems, Is much too dull for me… Don’t jump the gun! I gotta run, find what I’m looking for A peaceful place, an open space, make sure it has a door I’m stepping out, without a doubt, you’ll find me in the sea Courageous child, a brazen style, just like a phlatty bee I've got it good, or so I should, it seems I’ve got it great Call me repressed, or under-stressed, its wrong at any rate I’d never strive, to take a dive, for something true to me I’d rather perch, above the earth, the price to live is free

Earthbound Tim was lost in time, He never once thought to change his mind, I wonder how he carries on…. He never knows where he’s going to, We always see his point of view, Where he belongs is with his head up in the sky, But he’s earthbound! Tim had made a plan one time, For once he had reason and rhyme, But it just didn’t feel right, See the plan was to be wild and free, Edging on catastrophe, That’s when he felt that all was right within his world But he’s earthbound!

Catch Me 05:52
I set out, travelin’ south, when the freight car pulled away Cause back at home, I-was so alone, and I had some dues to pay But a drought came in, we packed it in, and the horses ran away From how I’m sitting here, it’s pretty clear – I have to leave today Despite it all, I braved the fall, just trying to get along I buckled down, got a job in town, in the hopes to pay it off But the hill got steeper and the debt got deeper, put me up against the wall, So I took a chance, the man got a glance, but they’ll never catch me at all I was halfway there, without a care, when I thought of what I’d done A man in his prime, without a dime, not far from his own gun I’d stumbled in, all full of gin, and much to my surprise Boss’ safe lay open, and what I was hoping, was a blessing in disguise With the gold in hand, I began to stand when I spotted August Morr A man of the book, and his glance I took, as he emerged beyond the door, He said Johnny-boy listen, I can see your fishin’, for some stock that isn't yours Wont-cha put it back, and I won’t say jack, and you’ll be on out the door Could it be the pride, or the liquid ride, that fuels a desperate man? To take a life, make a widowed wife, just for a final stand I never planned on killin’ but my head was driven by the drink and a lonely mind A good man lay dead, and ol’ Johnny boy sped towards the nearest freight car line As the train pulled rolled in, weighed down by sin, I gave my last goodbyes To some men whose past, could never outlast the veil of honest eyes And when those silver tracks, of all the times gone past, began to straighten out) The law man stood there, yet I still declared, oh no you’ll never catch me at all

Pedro 07:28
He took the wind out Magellan's sail He drank whiskey from the holy grail He told Cain how to deal with Able He lives truth but recites a fable He doesn't really have a master plan But don't tell him he's a thoughtless man It's just an urge to defy tradition To stir the pot is his only mission Pedro Pedro, worldly man Chaos theory's biggest fan A ripple in the water's not taboo But don't let him get too close to you Pedro Pedro, you can't see The world ain't waiting on your decency The path you chose is only yours Don't expect us to be on all fours He made millions in the Great Depression Said nothing at his only Confession He's got a way to turn shit to gold A Royal Flush and he'll surely fold He broke bread with the devil's own Was on his knees when he got back home Pagliacci could sure relate Keep laughing toward a painful fate Pedro Pedro, turned around Never had a friend to back you down Denied your pride long ago Now you've gained weight, your sinking slow Pedro Pedro, find the line Tow it, by God and strip the mine It won't work out the way you wish Cause you never will truly catch that fish

Ride 09:20
Look to the waters... Of deep reflection... A view of yourself… With no direction… This time it seems like our futures uncertain, No encore now, they've drawn the curtain, It spirals down to dissolve beneath my feet, Inside this void, it all seems bittersweet. Near the edge… but still I find a way, It seems today… is just like yesterday, And when I step… I step back from the eyes of time Anyone can see… that who we are is defined along the ride. Enjoy the ride. Time moves slow… On down the line… Onward we go… To pass the time… Where do we stop only one can see it, We wander through, just trying to beat it, We climb and fall… yea, we know it’s all been said But does it change each time we lay our heads… Near the edge… but still I find a way, It seems today… is just like yesterday, And when I step… I step back from the eyes of time Anyone can see… that who we are is defined along the ride. Enjoy the ride.

The Clear 08:05
You know that it aint easy, When I'm flying all the time But around and around we travel across this, Path that's yours and mine And when I stop to remember, All I left behind, What couldn't wait for tomorrow, Wasn't all that hard to find And now I know, What I wouldn't show, And should I have to leave, And get away from here, To the Clear. As I walk across the garden, I can still recall the time, We ran away to a place that I won't ever be again, But you were, oh so fine We couldn't stay there forever, Though I saw the signs Sometimes the things that are perfect, Go on and fade with time And now I know, What I wouldn't show, And should I have to leave, And get away from here, To the Clear.

Rising Tide 04:26
Another day, the morning rain, It’s got me on my feet again, Get outta bed, and clear your head, don’t pay no mind to what he said The tip top of the bottom rung, a sad song so seldom sung Like alveoli of a punctured lung… Don’t fear the height you gotta climb, when you crossed on over the line The steps become much easier in time… You’ll find! The morning came and went the same, close my eyes and I’m stuck within the game Swallow the pill that makes you ill, No easy way to find a thrill, You shake your limbs to the common gong, and act ping to a massive pong Before you know it your face is long… Just keep your head afloat, above the rising tide, Let the crashing waves wash away the brine…. And when you find your way Back to the shore, you might yearn for something more, But its not in the depths you plunged before…. Before... The night steals away the day, try-na send this monkey on its way, The home stretch, is all that’s left, And we've gone too far to second guess, The third strike is the one that hurts, but keep swinging if a mans on first, Otherwise your damn heart could burst Just keep your head afloat, above the rising tide, Let the crashing waves wash away the brine…. And when you find your way Back to the shore, you might yearn for something more, But its not in the depths you plunged before

The Fall 05:20
Its hard to find direction, When you are not real at all, The only source of solace is, The ever-nearing fall The time when I am my true friends, can all recall the past, and glance over our weary shoulders, to what has gone too fast Desperate for a moment to retrace forgotten steps, Relive a festive memory, Or fight the tears we've wept Slower moves the setting sun, For every passing day, Waiting for the fall to come And wipe your tears away. A path that finally meets it's end So long a trip with wounds to mend With all the bad and all the good, Will in the fall, seems not a bad trip at all And if the world around us, should fade to ash and sand, Be still your precious memories, amidst the wasted land, If there upon the barren ground, exists a single seed, Don’t waste the chance to nurture lifelines That just might set you free. A path that finally meets it's end So long a trip with wounds to mend With all the bad and all the good, Will in the fall, seems not a bad trip at all

Epiphany 07:54
As I walk these lonely streets, I think of how I came to be A vessel in this place, yearning for the unknown piece, Underneath the tree, is where I sit and ponder these Questions that I seek and how they won’t let me be And I, I try, But there’s just no sense in waiting for the light, Of the day, cause it will fade… But you learn to find your soul in shades of grey As I mute these silent thoughts, I wonder if I could be, Expressive through my faults, and not by how I can’t agree.. To everything I ’ought, I guess there’s just no vacancy, But perhaps I can be taught, to think for you and not for me.... And I, I try, But there’s no place in this world for those who shy Away, from the lie But I can’t be down to earth when I’m so high... Woahh, and as my mind recedes… I finally see what I couldn’t see Woahh, when all I got is me… I finally see that I can be free That I can be free As I try to find my place, I see myself inside a cell, Of undivided space, where I can think and dream and dwell.. Of a life where nothings bound, to earth and sky or sand and see, But now I hear the sound, It’s got to be you and me… And I, I try, But there’s just no sense in waiting for the light, Of the day, cause it will fade… But you learn to find your soul in shades of grey Woahh, and as my mind recedes… I finally see what I couldn’t see Woahh, when all I got is me… I finally see that I can be free That I can be free
